Simulation exercise: African swine fever in Australia

Dr Mark Schipp, Chief Veterinary Officer, Department of Agriculture and Water Resources, Canberra, Australia, informed the OIE that a simulation exercise, Exercise Rapid Strike, will take place in Adelaide, South Australia, from 4 to 8 March 2019.

Exercise Rapid Strike will be run by Biosecurity South Australia and aims to provide strategic insight for government agencies and industry, into African Swine Fever (ASF) and a response operation.

The exercise will be a desktop exercise and the scenario will be based on an ASF outbreak in order to improve the ASF preparedness of both government and industry.
