Dr Javier Ernesto Suárez Hurtado, National Head for Animal Health, National Service for Animal and Plant Health and Food Safety (SENASAG), Ministry of Rural Development and Lands of Bolivia, informed the OIE that a simulation exercise on avian influenza will take place in the Department of Cochabamba from 7 to 11 November 2016.

This simulation exercise will be performed in the framework of the preparation of the National Animal Health Emergency System (SINAEZ) applied to this disease.

The main objective of this simulation exercise is to evaluate the capabilities of the response when facing contingencies due to an occurrence of avian influenza while testing the chain of command and the health regulations in force for this purpose.
