Simulation exercise: Exotic swine disease in Argentina

Dr Jorge Nestor Amaya, President, National Agrifood Health and Quality Service (SENASA(1)), Secretariat for Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food, Argentina informed the OIE that a simulation exercise on an exotic swine disease will take place from 28 November to 1 December 2006 in Junín, Buenos Aires province.

This simulation exercise aimed at detecting at a very early stage cases of emerging or exotic diseases in pigs and responding quickly to these emergencies, will be carried out in order to technically train those who participate in the application of preventive and control measures to be taken in case of detection of an outbreak.
