03/02/2012 Chinese Taipei notifies two FMD outbreaks
In a report of immediate notification sent to the OIE, Chinese Taipei notified that two outbreaks of foot and mouth disease have occurred in farms in the Kinmen region. 530 swine have been destroyed. The cleaning and disinfection of the index farms were completed. The clinical inspection and epidemiological investigation on the surrounding farms are ongoing.

26/01/2012 Namibia reports that no new FMD outbreak has occurred
In a follow-up report sent to the OIE, Namibia reported that no new foot and mouth disease outbreak has occurred since the 5th January 2012. The second round of vaccination of cattle within a 40 km radius of the primary outbreak at Masikili crushpen was completed covering 65,620 animals. Movement restrictions and other biosecurity measures are still in force.
