Withdrawal of the endorsement of FMD official control programme

Following the action plan and progress report received from the OIE Delegate of Venezuela on the FMD situation with regard to its official control programme for FMD, the OIE Scientific Commission for Animal Diseases after comprehensive consideration of the available information, concluded that Venezuela does not fulfil anymore the requirements of the Terrestrial Animal Health Code (Terrestrial Code) for a country having an OIE endorsed official control programme for FMD. As a result, the endorsement of the “OIE official control programme for FMD” for Venezuela, as recognised by the OIE World Assembly of Delegates in terms of Resolution No. 18 in May 2015, was withdrawn in accordance with Article 8.8.39. of the Terrestrial Code with effect from 8 September 2017.
