Simulation exercise: African swine fever in Singapore

Dr Yap Him Hoo, Director-General of the Animal & Veterinary Service, Chief Veterinary Officer, and Delegate to the OIE, informed that Singapore will be running a table-top simulation exercise to test their response to an African swine fever (ASF) outbreak through import of livestock on 5 July 2021.
The simulation exercise code-named “Exercise Sus” will test Singapore’s African swine fever emergency preparedness plans, specifically:
- the intra-agency and inter-agency operational command and coordination,
- the critical communication and decision-making,
- and the ability to effectively manage an African swine fever outbreak.
