Simulation exercise: Anthrax in New-Zealand

11 to 14 November 2002

Dr Matthew Stone, Programme Co-ordinator of the Exotic Disease Response, Animal Biosecurity, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF), New Zealand, has informed the OIE that a national simulation exercise on a hypothetical anthrax outbreak will take place in his country between 11 and 14 November 2002.

These exercises are annual events in New Zealand. Anthrax has not occurred in New Zealand since 1954.

Observers from USA, Great Britain, Australia and Japan will be attending the simulation.
