Simulation exercise: Avian influenza in Chile 2

Dr Jose Ignacio Gómez Meza, Head of the Division of Animal Protection of the Department of Agriculture and Animal Production (SAG), Ministry of Agriculture of Chile, Santiago, informed the OIE that a simulation exercise on avian influenza will take place in the city of Arica, Chile, from 17 to 19 November 2015.

This simulation exercise, programmed in the frame of an adequate preparation of the Chilean Official Veterinary Service, aims at strengthening the response skills in case of a possible occurrence of an avian influenza event in domestic birds in the national territory.

This exercise will include field and table-top modalities.
