Simulation exercise: Avian influenza in Peru-2

Dr Oscar M. Domínguez Falcón, Director General for Animal Health, National Animal Health Service (SENASA), Ministry of Agriculture of Peru, informed the OIE that SENASA will realise a simulation exercise of a hypothetical outbreak of avian influenza to be conducted from 20 to 21 February 2008 in Trujillo city (La Libertad Department), the second national poultry production zone.

This exercise will be organised with the participation of the private and public sectors: Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Health, SENASA, Regional Government of La Libertad Department, Veterinary Medical Corporation, National police, Northern producers of eggs, Peruvian aviculture association and local producers.
