Simulation exercise: Bluetongue in the Nordic-Baltic countries

Dr Eivind Liven, on behalf of the Nordic-Baltic Veterinary Contingency Group, informed the OIE that a bluetongue simulation exercise will take place in Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Sweden between 14 and 16 May 2008. Representatives from Iceland will take part as observers.

The overall objective of this simulation exercise is to test the bluetongue contingency plans in the above mentioned countries and to enhance and coordinate inter-Nordic-Baltic cooperation during disease outbreaks.
