Simulation exercise: Cattle diseases in Brazil

Dr Jamil Gomes de Souza, Director of Animal Health Department, Secretariat of Agriculture and Livestock Defence of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply (MAPA) of Brazil informed the OIE that the Pan American Centre for Foot-and-Mouth Disease (PANAFTOSA) will conduct, within the framework of the technical cooperation between the MAPA and the PANAFTOSA, an emergency disease exercise.

This exercise will be held from 8 to 14 August 2009 in Mato Grosso State and it will be focused on cattle diseases. The exercise will be carried out in real conditions and will allow the veterinarians of the official Veterinary Services to apply the knowledge acquired during the training courses and the actions planned in the National Contingency Plans. <
