Simulation exercise: Classical swine fever in Jamaica

The Delegate of Jamaica informed the OIE that a classical swine fever outbreak simulation exercise took place on 6 April 2004 in the central parish of St Catherine.

Its objective was to evaluate the level of preparedness of the competent authorities to deal with an outbreak of an exotic animal disease in the country.

A total of seventy persons, including veterinarians of both public and private sectors, animal health officials as well as officers of the Police Force and Army participated in this exercise.
