Simulation exercise: Foot and mouth disease – classical swine fever in Bulgaria

The National Veterinary Service (NVS) of Republic of Bulgaria will organize a foot and mouth disease (FMD) and classical swine fever (CSF) simulation exercise in the administrative region of Kjustendil (South-West Bulgaria) from 31 March to 4 April 2003.

The aim of this exercise is to enforce FMD and CSF contingency plans in case of disease introduction.

This exercise will be organized with the assistance of the Technical Assistance Information Exchange Office (TAIEX) of the European Commission and the participation of experts from the relevant departments of the NVS Chief Directorate and Chief Epidemiologists of all the Regional Veterinary Services.
