Simulation exercise: Foot and mouth disease in Austria

The Austrian Ministry of Health and Women informed the OIE that a real-time alert simulation exercise on foot and mouth disease (FMD) will take place in his country between 8 and 11 November 2004 according to Article 73 of EU Council Directive 2003/85/EC.

The aim of the exercise programme is to review and update the current Austrian FMD outbreak contingency plan. Internal and external observers will take part to its evaluation.
