Simulation exercise – Foot and mouth disease in Canada

Dr Brian Evans, Chief Veterinary Officer, Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), Ottawa, Canada, informed the OIE that a table-top simulation exercise, named “Traînée de poudre” (Like wildfire), will take place in Quebec City, province of Quebec, on 16 and 17 February 2011. This exercise will have no field component.

The overall aim of this exercise, directed by CFIA, is to train on applying both internal emergency preparedness initial procedures as well as relations between governmental, academic and industrial parties involved.
