Simulation exercise: Foot and mouth disease in Chile 2

Dr Oscar Eduardo Videla Pérez, Head of the Division of Animal Protection of the Department of Agriculture and Animal Production (SAG), Ministry of Agriculture of Chile, informed the OIE that a simulation exercise on foot and mouth disease will take place in Chile from 10 to 14 June 2019.

This simulation exercise is carried out within the framework of the activities of the Permanent Veterinary Committee of the Southern Cone (CVP) and is therefore important in terms of training and practice at the regional level.

This simulation, under the framework of the CVP-BID* Project, is within the Technical Work Guide for the Last Stage of the Hemispheric Programme for the Eradication of Foot and Mouth Disease.

For Chile and the countries that comprise the region, this simulation exercise is an opportunity for training and practice within a territory that has a FMD free status without vaccination.
