Simulation exercise: Foot and mouth disease in Estonia-3

Dr Olev Kalda, Deputy Director General of the Veterinary and Food Board of the Republic of Estonia informed the OIE that a field simulation exercise on foot and mouth disease (FMD) will take place on 29 August 2019 in the county of Järva.

Participants to this simulation exercise will be the specialists from the Veterinary and Food Board county centres.

The main objective of this exercise is to practice fieldwork, operations management, tasks dividing in the event of an outbreak of FMD.

The activities will be the following ones:

1. practice the disease event management;
2. exercise fieldwork (localization of the outbreak and implementation of biosecurity measures).
