Simulation exercise: Foot and mouth disease in Peru-9

Dr Janios Miguel Quevedo Valle, Director General of Animal Health, National Agrarian Health Service (SENASA), Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation of Peru, informed the OIE that a regional field simulation exercise on foot and mouth disease will take place in Peru from 6 to 8 June 2017, in the city of Huánuco.

The objective of this simulation exercise denominated “Simulation of emergency preparedness during an occurrence of foot and mouth disease” is to strengthen management capacities of the adequate and efficient response of an emergency of a foot and mouth disease occurrence with a view to reducing the economic health impacts that could generate from the virus introduction.

This simulation exercise is directed to professionals of the public and private Service.
