Simulation exercise: Foot and mouth disease in Spain

Dr Lucio Ignacio Carbajo Goñi, Deputy Director General of Animal Health, Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food of Spain, informed the OIE that a simulation exercise on foot and mouth disease (FMD) will take place in his country on 16 and 17 June 2008.

This exercise will evaluate the preparedness of central and local veterinary services if FMD occurs and test the national and autonomous regional contingency plans for FMD.
