Simulation exercise: Foot and mouth disease in Uruguay

Dr Carlos A. Correa Messuti, Ministry of Animal Production, Agriculture and Fisheries of Uruguay informed the OIE that his country will realize from 26 to 28 November 2008 in Rocha Department, Santa Teresa Park at the border with Brazil, a training exercise on a response to a hypothetical outbreak of foot and mouth disease in the country.

This exercise will include theoretical and practical training of the new officials recently integrated into the structure of the Veterinary Services.

Official veterinarians, SINAESA (National System of Animal Sanitary Emergency) Members and other public and private institutions will participate in this exercise.
