Simulation exercise: Highly pathogenic avian influenza in Paraguay

Dr Gerardo José Bogado Ayala, Deputy Minister of Animal Production, Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Production of Paraguay, informed the OIE that SENACSA (National Animal Health Service) will realise a simulation exercise on an outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza from 4 to 8 June 2007.

This exercise will be organised with the participation of international experts from Chile and Mexico and the collaboration of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the Interamerican Institute for Cooperation in Agriculture (IICA), the Pan American Health Organization / World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO), the European Union and Animal Health official Institutes from MERCOSUR countries.
