Simulation Exercise : Highly pathogenic avian influenza in Peru

Dr Janios Miguel Quevedo Valle, Director General of Animal Health, National Agrarian Health Service (SENASA), Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation of Peru, informed the OIE that a field simulation exercise on highly pathogenic avian influenza will take place in the city of Chincha, Department of Ica, from 11 to 12 December 2013.

Professionals from the private sector will participate as observers to this simulation exercise.

The main aim of this simulation exercise is to evaluate the capacity of the adequate response facing the presence of highly pathogenic avian influenza and to revise the efficiency of the plans and procedures to control it.
