Simulation exercise: New world screwworm (Cochliomyia hominivorax) in Panama

24 to 26 February

Dr Bredio Velasco Denvers, National Director of Animal Health of the Ministry of Agricultural Development, Panama, informed the OIE that a simulation exercise on new world screwworm (Cochliomyia hominivorax) will take place from 24 to 26 February 2015 in the Animal Health Laboratory in Divisa, Herrera Province.

The fieldwork exercise will be carried out in farms in neighbouring provinces: Herrera, Coclé y Veraguas.

It should be stressed that The Republic of Panama has a Reference Laboratory for this disease.
