Simulation exercise: Rift Valley fever in the United States of America

Dr John Clifford, Deputy Administrator, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service of the United States Department of Agriculture informed the OIE that a tabletop exercise involving Rift valley fever, called “Blue Mountain Exercise”, will take place in Tallahassee, State of Florida, between 18 and 20 November 2008. It is sponsored by the Florida State Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Animal Industry.

This tabletop exercise will be a controlled, scenario-driven activity that will take place in an operational environment and will require players to perform a range of tasks related to their emergency roles.
