Affected population One duck from a flock of backyard poultry (ducks and chickens) was found to be infected with low pathogenic avian influenza H5. This was an incidental finding.

Epidemiological comments All backyard birds involved have been euthanased. Tracing and testing of contact birds is continuing. A 1km Restricted Area has been established around the premises. The N type is yet to be determined.
