Affected population The dead fox was found killed in the road incident 900 m from the border with Belarus in Vilnius county, Salcininkai district municipality, Dieveniskes parish. Entire cadaver was taken in the framework of passive surveillance for rabies and delivered for testing in to the National Food and Veterinary Risk Assessment Institute. Brain was investigated by immunofluorescent method and was found positive to rabies on 21 September 2018.
