Source of the outbreak(s) or origin of infection

Epidemiological comments Sampling was carried out in the surveillance zone on 17 equids in three holdings and three equids tested positive on the AGID test; the affected holding was notified as the second outbreak. In addition, other animals in contact with the first outbreak were tested: seven equids in two premises were sampled and all gave negative results on the AGID test. The distance between the outbreaks and the city of Lima is about 760 km in a straight line.
