Epidemiological comments 1.The 52nd affected farm (Uruma city in Okinawa) On January 18th, stamping out and disinfection were completed at the 52nd affected farm and the epidemiologically related farm of the 52nd affected farm. 2. The 53rd affected farm (Uruma city in Okinawa) On January 18th, stamping out and disinfection were completed at the 53rd affected farm. 3.The epidemiologically related farms of the 53rd affected farm (Okinawa city in Okinawa) On January 9th, the official veterinarians of the Local Hygiene Service Centre (LHSC) visited the farm to conduct clinical inspection and sampling on the epidemiologically related farm of the 53rd affected farm. RT-PCR for CSFV was conducted at the LHSC and it was found to be positive on January 11th. The epidemiologically related farm of above-mentioned farm was identified. On January 19th, stamping out and disinfection were completed at the epidemiologically related farms of the 53rd affected farm. 4. The 54th affected farm (Okinawa city in Okinawa) On January 8th, the official veterinarians of LHSC conducted active surveillance (blood sampling) targeting the farms located within radius of 3 km from the 52nd and 53rd affected farm. RT-PCR for CSFV was conducted at the LHSC and it was found to be positive on January 10th. On January 19th, stamping out and disinfection were completed at the the 54th affected farm. 5. The 55th affected farm (Uruma city in Okinawa) On January 14th, some pigs were found to be dead and it was reported to the LHSC. Official veterinarians of LHSC immediately visited the farm to conduct clinical inspection and sampling. RT-PCR for CSFV are conducted at the LHSC. The result was found to be positive on January 15th.
