Epidemiological comments Following epidemiological sampling around the outbreaks in the State of Nayarit, pigs with positive serology for Aujeszky's disease were detected in six backyards in the municipality of El Nayar. The pigs identified had no clinical signs. In the 6 outbreaks, serum neutralisation tests were positive and the virus was not isolated. All the pigs with positive serology and their contacts have been killed and no more infected animals or cases of the disease have been detected in the affected municipalities of the States of Tamaulipas, Guerrero and Nayarit. Therefore, in accordance with Article 8.2.4.3a of the Terrestrial Animal Health Code, this event is considered closed.
