Epidemiological comments |
3 Jun 2020 Update—A domestic cat from a household with known COVID-19 affected inhabitants was sampled for respiratory illness. Clinical signs included depression, fever, and harsh lung sounds. The cat tested positive for both mycoplasma felis and SARS-CoV-2 at the initial testing laboratory. Infection with SARS-CoV-2 was confirmed based upon molecular testing (PCR and sequencing). Both the cat and owners have reportedly recovered. |
