Epidemiological comments 5 Jun 2020 Update--Seven of 11 affected premises in North Carolina remain quarantined. Cleaning and disinfection activities are in progress, with five affected North Carolina premises having completed the C & D process. All environmental sampling and testing for avian influenza virus post C & D completion were negative for avian influenza virus on four affected North Carolina premises. These four premises have been released from quarantine as of 5 Jun 2020. Routine passive and active surveillance for the National Poultry Improvement Plan (NPIP) avian influenza programs is ongoing statewide in North Carolina and South Carolina. The USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) and Animal Health Officials in affected states continue their comprehensive epidemiological investigation.
