Epidemiological comments As of the outbreak Mitoyo-City 5 in this report (Case 6): On 19 November 2020, local veterinary service in Kagawa Pref. received notification from a laying hen farm and confirmed Influenza A virus by antigen-capture kits. On 20 November, LHSC conformed H5 by RT-PCR and RRT-PCR. On 21 November, stamping-out was completed. On 27 November, NIAH confirmed H5N8 HPAI by RT-PCR and sequencing. On 11 December, control measures (including disinfection) were completed. There are 4 epidemiologically related farms; the outbreaks Mitoyo-City 7, Mitoyo-City 8, Mitoyo-City 9 Mitoyo-City 10 in this report. As of the outbreaks Mitoyo-City 7, Mitoyo-City 8, Mitoyo-City 9 and Mitoyo-City-10 (epidemiologically related farms to Case 6): On 21 and 22 December, stamping-out was completed (on 21 in Mitoyo-City 7 and Mitoyo-City 8, on 22 in Mitoyo-City 9 and Mitoyo-City 10). On 11 December, control measures (including disinfection) were completed. Movement and shipment restrictions have been imposed on these farms within a radius of 3 km and 3-10 km of the affected farm, respectively.
