Epidemiological comments |
A protection zone (3 km) and a surveillance zone (10 km) have been put in place around the infected farm and the euthanizing of animals has started. All other restrictions and necessary measures according to Directive 2005/94/EG are applied, including a prohibition of transportation of live birds, hatching eggs and not heat-treated poultry products in this area.
All poultry on the infected holding are euthanised and the disinfection was completed 19 November.
The 3 km protection zone was lifted 10 December.
The 10 km surveillance zone, based on EU legislation, was lifted 19 December. If no more outbreaks occur, Sweden will be eligible to declare itself free from avian influenza, according to OIE terrestrial code, 19 February 2021. |
