Affected population This is an establishment with parent poultry for the production of day-old broiler chickens. It is divided into 12 buildings (1-12) that constitute seven separate epidemiological units. Signs (high mortality) were seen in house 7, which constitutes an epidemiological unit with house 8. On 10 January 2021, signs of increased mortality have been seen in house 11, which constitutes an epidemiological unit with house 12. On 15 January, signs of a slight increase of mortality was detected in house 2, which constitutes an epidemiological unit with house 1.

Epidemiological comments A protection zone (3 km) and a surveillance zone (10 km) have been put in place around the establishment. All the poultry in this epidemiological unit (house 7 and 8) will be euthanized. All other restrictions and necessary measures according to Directive 2005/94/EG are/will be applied, including a prohibition of transportation of live birds, hatching eggs and not heat-treated poultry products in this area.
