Affected population |
Information about dead wild birds (mute swan, Cygnus olor) received in the framework of enhanced passive surveillance. A wild bird was collected and delivered to the National Reference Laboratory – National Food and Veterinary Risk Assessment Institute. The sequence of the HA gene in the virus was found similar to that of the highly pathogenic H5N8 virus, with the same highly pathogenic cleavage site (PLREKRRKR/GLF). |
