The rabbits, which were pets, were housed in horse stalls and ran free in those stalls.
The USDA, Animal Plant Health Inspection Services (APHIS), and the Ohio Department of Agriculture are conducting a comprehensive epidemiological investigation of this event. This is the first detection of rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus 2 in the United States.
